Notion Ink’s Adam buzz getting stronger!

niadamcodeOver the last several weeks Notion Ink has really started to market their forthcoming Adam tablet. An NVIDIA Tegra 2 powered Android tablet that along with most of the Android Community I personally have been waiting on for quite some time. A couple of weeks ago Notion Ink stated on the CEO’s blog that they had started a developers Early Access Program, They released a teaser commercial/video on YouTube.

Now to top it off Notion Ink has taken to the easter egg game, Last week after they unveiled a new site design someone clever found this tidbit hanging in the sites source code:

For any sneaky fellows looking through the code, here’s a tidbit for you, there’s a very awesome hidden sensor we’re gonna be revealing soon

This was revealed over the weekend on the features page as an ambient light sensor used to automatically switch between the normal display and the Pixel Qi (an display similar to color eInk) display. You will also on the features page:

Bonus mystery feature ;)

Which as my buddy Russell Holly pointed this out to me there is a “code” on the main page of notionink.com and he went on to describe it

The code D5720A80 is 3581020800 in decimal, which in timestamp of UNIX is a June 24, 2083. Since there is a negative in front of the code, the number becomes -3581020800. Throw that into a UNIX time converter, and you get July 10, 1856. Alright history geeks, why is that date important? It’s Nikola Tesla’s birthday, and we all know Tesla was crazy about wireless power. The details are sparse at best, but images that are not unlike the Palm Pre’s keystone charger float through my mind.

as part of his article over at geek.com

So what does this all really mean? Who knows I would really like to see this thing come with an induction charging circuit but at this point I’m not too sure. The Tesla reference is pretty strong though and I really love how Rohan and the gang at Notion Ink have done they certainly know how to stir up excitement around this product… I know I’ll be getting one as soon as they hit shelves!
