Our friends over at HTCSource noted that HTC has released the kernel source for the Desire Z, G2 and Droid Incredible today. As HTCSource mentions you should probably keep and eye on XDA developers to see what they come up with, Don’t forget your twitter feed either! I’ll keep my eyes peeled and let you all know if I see anything like a permanent root for the G2 (we can hope)!
Android seems to be gaining developers hand over fist, According to TechEye some 60% of developers surveyed are working on Android development. The study showed that developers are currently working on Symbian, Android, Windows Phone, Flash Lite and mobile web among others, Android and iPhone development top the list. The survey states that 60% of developers are currently or have in the past worked on Android projects despite iPhone having some 225,000 applications versus the 72,000+ Android apps. A full 3/4ths of developers surveyed stated market penetration as a main factor in choose which platform to develop for. The number 2 reason at approximately 55% is revenue potential.
