AdMob Stats Breakdown! Top 10 Android Devices, OS Market Share, Satisfaction Levels and more!

July 1st, 2010 Aaron View Comments

Android Police has done a nice writeup on the AdMob data recently released and come to some pretty interesting conclusions HTC and Motorola are the Android dominators at the moment with the Droid being tops in Marketshare @ 21%, I was surprised to see the Nexus One so far down on the list honestly… either way a lot of good info there for those that are interested.

One particularly interesting piece of information is their ranking of the top ten Android smartphones in terms of market share, based on data collected by AdMob in May of this year. You can view the list and each handset maker’s own market share below.

Combined, HTC and Motorola are dominating the Android handset market with an 83% share. It’s going to be very interesting to see how the stats change in the coming months with Samsung, currently at 5% (at least in the top 10 list), gunning full speed to regain their own Android market share.

It was a little busy after I hit the sack last night apparently! I’ve got an X10 Mini Unboxing from AndroidGuys, Admob Stats for May, Australia is getting thier very own Superphone the Nexus 1 by way of Vodaphone!, Yahoo was busy yesterday releasing an entire suite of apps for Android, and HTC and Sprint reboot the EVO 4G OTA update as well as let you know what you need to do if you bricked it!

For all you HTC EVO 4G Owners out there (First let me say lucky you!) If you were unfortuate enough to have bricked your phone during the first update I”m sure you have already contacted Sprint but if you haven’t official word is head to your local Sprint owned store and they will work with you to get a replacement… via Android Police

Second HTC and Sprint were quick to fix the problem and released the OTA update round 2 yesterday… via Everything Android

I didn’t mention this above and I prbably should have but I’m not 100% on the source but here it is, Google is working with OEMs to increase it market share in India and China, These “emerging” markets are of course exactly where Google wants to take hold and in turn dominate the handheld market so it was only logical to go with this! via AndroidOS.in

AndroidGuys.com was lucky enough to receive an X10 Mini for review and they have taken photos of its unboxing! Hope to see a full review on it soon! via AndroidGuys

AdMob has released May’s market share data… Android continues to gain, It will be interesting to see how the iPhone 4 launch shows on their graphs next month! for more info check out the full article via Android Central

Since Google is no longer selling its flagship Nexus One online that leaves just the Brick and Mortars and Carriers in the Superphone business, Its not often Google admits defeat but the Nexus One has kept fighting back first 100k units in South Korea and now it seems that Vodaphone in Australia is embracing the beast phone! via Phandroid

Yahoo! opens up 3 apps on the Android Market. Mail, Messenger and Search while I’ve never been a huge user of Yahoo! there are plenty that do not to mention its always nice to have choices. Get the gritty details at Androinica

And I think I saved the best morsel for last… HTC has a new rumor floating around a 2GHz phone dubbed “Sabor” is supposedly going to be arriving with Gingerbread sometime late this year… AndroidGuys has the full story
