I’ll have unboxing and boot animation videos of these devices up this shortly, I also spent some time comparing the Motorola Droid and Samsung Captivate at a local park took some photos and video I’ll get that posted this afternoon as well! Its going to be a busy couple of weeks!
Today I received my Samsung Galaxy S Captivate for AT&T, Special thanks to Samsung for sending my the review unit! This wont be a review just a few pics and my first impressions of the phone. First off as I had heard when others first see a Super AMOLED screen all I could think was “Wow” its a bright and vibrant screen! Outside in direct sunlight (which I plan to do photos of) it washes out but not as bad as my Moto Droid its still pretty usable. Size wise this thing is borderline perfect, Certainly not too wide or tall. Its about half the thickness of a Moto Droid, Almost exactly the same thickness as the back portion (hardware keyboard). Its light but not too light all in all it seems like a nice phone so far and thankfully AT&T is finally getting a High End Android Device, this may well keep power users happy on AT&T for the time being… I’m off to play with it some more over the next week or so If you have any questions send an email to questions@androiddose.com and put Captivate in the subject line, I will try and make sure I answer them in my forthcoming review.
